Board Shapes

The shapes shown below are some of many shapes available, they are just suggestions, you can have an honours board in any shape or size that you would like.

These are the basic shapes of honour boards available, but remenber that you can have any shape or size that you can think of

Board Colours
You can have any colour that you can imagine. We can try and colour match new boards to harmonise with any existing honour boards that you currently display. You can have an honour board in blue with a green border to match school colours. Wood dye colours are all transluscent and will show and emphasise the grain of the wood beautifully, unlike paint which will hide the wood.

St. Bedes College,
Manchester

This board produced for Heanorgate Science College with school crest mounted on stand off fixings Gold lettering on a hill shaped honour board Medium dark quarter sawn veneered board framed in solid oak for a college in Manchester
Heanorgate Science College chose a hill shaped honour board with a contrasting edge colour and gold borderline measuring 1200mm X 900mm. The school badge has been cut from 6mm thick Perspex and fixed to the board so that it stands off the surface by 20mm.
We produced seven sporting honours boards for the Cathedral School in Llandaff, Cardiff, including captains of rounders, rowing, netball, hockey, football, cricket and rugby. They have been mounted on a hexagonal wall which means that there is space for one more.
The school crest is cut from 7 different colours.
St. Bede's College in Manchester requested a medium deep colour for their 4 boards displaying the names of captains of football, rugby netball and hockey, The board is framed in solid oak with fluted columns.
No Limitations Notice

School Honour Boards

It's not just lists of head boys and girls that are noted on school honour boards these days.
Modern educational thinking looks for the opportunity to give students incentive through recognition
and encouragement through acknowledgement using honour boards.

There are no limitations to shape, size or colour of the honour board that you can have.
You can have any size, any shape, font style, framing or colour that you would like.

If you see an honours board in the sports club, or any section, that appeals to you, we can produce drawings and costs
based on that option for you to consider.

If you don't see anything on this page that appeals to you then please give us an idea of what you would like and we will send you scale drawings.

Everything that we produce is tailormade to your requirements, which means that you can ask us to design anything that you can think of and we will be able to make it.

In order to offer you any costs, suggestions and/or scale drawings we need a certain amount of information from you.

Eastbury Comprehensive School An honour board in solid beech with fluted columns and ogee capping piece This simple rectangular sporting hononour board looks very handsome finished with medium oak stain, gold lettering and lion logo This honour board is designed to have removeable sections that can be renewed when required
Eastbury Comprehensive School in Barking ordered a series of ten boards in beech. Beech is the the lightest in colour of all the varieties of timber typically used. The grain is generally delicate and subtle but not without interest. The school badge is reproduced using vector cut graphics. A very simple rectangular shape can look stunning when the colours are well balanced. Manor Green College in Crawley needed a board that could be updated each term with 6 names which meant that space would soon run out. This honours board has individual name panels that slide in and out and can be easily replaced

Special Awards Honour Boards

A light golden oak honour board displaying the names of head girls since 1999 This is a wave shaped honours board in golden oak with gold lettering and seagull logo An unusual set of three boards made from Beech with blue lettering and school badge
A medium light finish on this curved top honours board displays the head girls names in gold. You have to be careful not to choose a wood dye colour that is not so light that it provides insufficient contrast with the gold lettering to be easily legible. This school purchased 6 honour boards to recognise a wide range of achievements by their pupils.
They chose a left and right hand wave shaped board to act as bookend shapes at either end of a row of 6, with 4 curved top boards to go inbetween the bookends to form an eye catching layout on their wall.
These three honour boards form an attractive design. Head boys and head girls are shown on the central panel and two boards that flank it display the names of special award winners presented by the school annually.

King's School Ely
Ely, Cambridgeshire

Lord Lawson of Beamish School

A framed golden oak honours board listing house head and head teachers King's School Ely honour board with contasting edge colour and vector cut school logo Three oak honours boards combine to form a triptych display of students achievements
This light golden oak honours board displays the names of head teachers and student heads of house. The names are shown in two colours and styles denoting different roles within the school. The King's School Ely is one of the oldest in the country and "horror of horrors" we made a mistake with the apostrophe, We check details, double check and then treble check but still things occasionally go awry.
In consequence we had to make a 300 mile round trip to rectify the error before the honours board could be displayed.
Another set of three boards to form a triptych display of students acievements, head girls and head boys, on medium stained oak veneers.

The display measures 1500mm at its highest and the combined width of the three panels is 2200mm.

for Eastbury Comprehensive School to check the design and spelling of the honour boards
We recently produced ten honour boards for Eastbury Comprehensive School in Barking, Essex.
